We at the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) understand the unprecedented challenges you are facing due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease). In an effort to assist you, the LWC will be deferring payment due of 1Q 2020 unemployment taxes until June 1-30, 2020.

Please note that the April 1-30, 2020 deadline for filing your 1Q 2020

Wage and Tax Report is still in place.

This is in line with how the U.S. Internal Revenue Service is handling federal income tax returns, with the filing of returns still due by April 15, but payment of any income taxes due extended for 90 days.

If you choose to defer payment of quarterly unemployment taxes, no penalty or interest will be assessed as long as payment in full is made by June 30, 2020.

You should file your quarterly wage and tax report as usual through our web-based LAWATS portal, https://laors2.laworks.net/lawats/.
